Mr. Beer

For Christmas, my mom and sister gave Daniel a beer making kit. So after we got home from the holidays (and just missed a huge snow storm on the eastern shore), we got to work. After mixing and heating and sterilizing, the beer was in the plastic keg. It first had to sit for 2 weeks, then be poured into bottles with added sugar and then it sat for another 3 weeks. We then of course had to chill the beer, though some bottles are continuing to "mature" in our wine fridge.

The pictures above are from our "keg tapping" event. The results...a bit weird. The beer is pretty sweet, but it does have plenty of carbonation. I hope that as it sits a bit longer, more of the sugar converts to alcohol? I think that's what happens, we will have to get the book back out. Anyways, it was fun!
